Telegraph

The Alberta Railway Museum’s St. Albert station has a permanent display of telegrapher’s equipment in a 1920s and 1930s office set up. The Museum also has the most extensive collection of telegraphy equipment in Canada, donated by APRA member Ab Krauter. Ab was also a member of the Morse Telegraph Club, Edmonton Chapter. The video below illustrates how a telegraph key is operated.

OPERATION LIFESAVER

The Museum supports the efforts of Canada’s railways to promote safety. We highly recommend that our guests also visit the Operation Lifesaver website. There you’ll find more information about rail safety, including in-person presentations, videos, and other resources.
